Summer Sunscreen Loving- EltaMD

As the east coast warms up💥, I find myself spending more time outdoors.
As a healthcare professional, I always tell my patients the importance of sunscreen all year round.

Being a darker complected person, I struggled with finding the perfect sunscreen that gave me adequate protection (SPF greater than 30) and did not leave a chalky white residue on my skin.

I have tried several sunscreens in the past and quite frankly I learned that there is a particular ingredient in most of them that irritates my skin. After consulting with a dermatologist, I found no answer and was left literally out in the sun.

One day I happen upon an article where a dermatologist recommended  EltaMD Broad Spectrum SPF for sensitive skin. Well I decided to give it a go. Over 10yrs later, I can say that this brand is a keeper👏.

  • EltaMD line is a bit pricier than your drugstore brand but for me, it's worth it and I get a long lasting use out of it.
  • The consistency is that of a cream and it's lightweight. The first time I applied it I was scared because I noted the the whiteness compared to my skin color. Lucky after a few minutes the whiteness dissipates and there is no residue...pics below
  • It's also fragrance and paraben free.
  • One bottle can last me roughly 5-6months. They also have lip balm and other SPF products for the body.
